Last night the citizens of Boynton Beach witnessed classic money controlled representation. We are moving our central Police Department to a shopping center!
Of the four proposals, only the THE PATRINELY GROUP presented ideas for our southeastern district which are aligned with the redevelopment of our Downtown Master Plan, the City Commission’s approved plan.
THE PATRINELY GROUP is the developer which the Save the BOSS (Boynton Old School Space) group is supporting 100%, as they have read the Downtown Master Plan, and they are in support of saving our Old High School and making it a Community Cultural Center, and creating the cultural corridor that Ocean Ave should become.
Our present City Commission had stacked their vote against THE PATRINELY GROUP’S proposal.
If you were in the audience last night, you would have witnessed total disregard of Boynton Beach citizens by the majority of their City Commission …..We are THE TAXPAYERS who have elected them.
Our work has REALLY begun! We start now to get TRUE REPRESENTATION.

Patrinely promised JROD money for his campaign if got the vote for their project – so what’s the difference?
Just got this passonate request…
“As you all know, the Boynton Beach municipal elections are coming up in March.
Whatever your party affiliation please understand: this is a VERY IMPORTANT election!! If you are interested, I hope you will share this info with others and consider taking the opportunity to speak with folks who have expressed interest in running for our City Commission.
This is our best opportunity to change the direction our City is heading in, of more of the same old baloney of no vision and no courage to take the steps we need to take to bring our downtown back to life.
We need only look at the horrible decision made last Tuesday night by Mayor Taylor, Commissioner Marlene Ross and Comm. Ron Weiland (who has announced his candidacy for Mayor) to move our Police Dept. from the downtown out to Renaissance Commons at Gateway and Congress Ave. to see that those folks simply do not get it. Even after listening to citizen after citizen speak, all pleading with them to not ignore our downtown, they showed their utter disregard for our wishes and did as they pleased. Thank goodness Vice Mayor Hay and Comm. Rodriguez showed the good sense to vote against this dreadful decision.
I don’t know about you, but I am sick of it. Time for some big changes around here and we cannot sit back and just hope for those changes, we have to do something!!!
We need to find the right people to support, regardless of party affiliation, and work our fannies off to make sure they win.”
DEFINITELY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION!
I thought when Rodriguez ousted the CRA Board in 2007, he was going to do a better job than the old board isn’t that what he said?? Check his voting record for the facts on his voting record before you endorse this candidate – remember he was not elected to his current seat..
What gives you the idea that THIS BLOG IS supporting ANY CANDIDATE?
It supports that “This is our best opportunity to change the direction our City is heading in…. of more of the same old baloney of no vision and no courage to take the steps we need to take to bring our downtown back to life.”?
The CRA’s Downtown Master Plan to redevelop our downtown is our latest and greatest in a long line of plans Boynton has engaged experts to undertake, that we pay for and promptly put in a box and ignore.
That this plan is currently a hot topic is because of the 4 proposals the Commission received responding to the RFP they issued for ideas for the Police Dept., City Hall and Old Boynton High School.
To accuse this focus on the DMP of being the election theatrics of Comm. Rodriguez plainly shows ignorance of what is transpiring beneath our noses. If there had been an independent CRA Board sitting up there, do you seriously think there would have been any problem with them promoting to the City Commission their support for the potential implementation of THEIR Downtown Master Plan that Patrinely proposed?? Get serious. The bailout fix was already in.
To state that Patrinely promised money to anyone is not only a fabrication of facts, it is slander of a well respected, national developer who followed the rules, and got disqualified on a hair splitting decision because the FIX WAS ALREADY IN. Don’t toss out a baseless, slanderous lie like that when you don’t have a clue about the truth.
Love Comm. Rodriguez or hate him, at least he’s up there trying to get the downtown moving. What are you doing to make our City better besides throwing out lies?
Follow the money that has actually already been donated and to whom.
Because there are still no minutes of the November 17, 2009 City Commission meeting, my suggestion is that you listen to the audio of the four presentations

I think that you will agree with me that the Patrinely DOWNTOWN concept is best for Our City. Boynton Beach needs a vibrant downtown and this would spark it! We must get the present City Commission to reflect on this fact.
